News from Trevor

Recently Trevor got to spend one day in Victoria, when we went to get his new companion Elder Aquino. He said it was fun to spend the day in Victoria but it was a breath of fresh air to get back to abasolo. This is what Trevor wrote in letter home last week, "I´ve felt the spirits influence and although my Spanish isn´t perfect, the people understand me and i think they felt it too. Before when i taught I worried about what i should say if its good or not, but this week i´ve testified more and taught more bluntly." He said they had a new record in church on Sunday 26 people.

A quote from Trevor

"Our Heavenly Father truly loves us. He knows each one of us and our needs. He sent Jesus Christ to the world and He paid for each one of us by suffering for our sins. He established his church and gave his authority to his apostles, that authority to lead the true church was lost which made it necessary that God call a new prophet. That prophet was Joseph Smith. The people here don´t realize the significance of that great man. But really Jesus Christ restored his gospel through him and now millions can enjoy the blessings that come through the true gospel of Christ. The book of Mormon is the way we can know that Joseph was a true prophet and that we have a Prophet today that speaks with God and Testifies to the world that Jesus is the Christ."

New Update

Trevor has been very busy over the past few weeks, they have moved out their old house and have moved into a nicer place. They have been busy painting when they have time, but only have Monday's so they do what they can they still have about 1/3 of the house to paint.

Trevor also gave his first first priesthood blessing in Spanish to a member that was sick this past week. He said it was pretty cool, and that the spirit was so strong that it made the rest of the day great.

Trevor said they have a lot of investigators in the other ejidos (towns), but they don´t have a lot of time to visit them all. They only have half a day or so in each place, which is not enough if you want to spend time talking to everyone. Also transportation has been difficult. They actually spending a lot of time walking to places before someone decides to pick them up and drive them.

This blog is a journal of Elder Evan's mission to Tampico Mexico, currently he is in Abasolo, which is his first area. His companion is Elder Torres. They currently live in a shack, but they are moving to a nicer place soon. They have been busy teaching new families, and they have also been working hard to activate the branch.
